What is the relationship between health and the blockchain industries? There is a consensus that blockchain technology has the potential to impact the healthcare sector by making user-generated data the core of health system ecosystems. This can be achieved by improving the safety and interoperability of health data. In this paper, we focus on Mobile Healthcare, or more specifically, Fitness / Health, powered by mobile health applications and handheld devices. However, it is important to understand the big picture in order to realize the full potential of Lympo in the future.

Blockchain is a distributed system that records and stores transaction records in a way that makes it impossible to change the contents of transactions in a digital ledger. Each transaction block is resized and chronologically linked to another block after the transaction item has been verified by the distributed peer-to-peer network. End-to-end encryption enables interactions such as storage, exchange and display of information without confederation of the parties.

The prevention of a central authority depends on an anonymous network of participants, which prevents data breaches and confidentiality. Blockchain-based smart contracts are contracts that can be fully executed if the terms of the contract are met. This system describes the need for exchange in the context of intermediate contract control. So far, intermediaries play an important role in the relationship between fluctuations in value and thus the revenue from their roles. The Smart Contract allows the end user to enter into a trusted relationship without any other authority. The sensitivity of health-related information and the need to erase that personal information in order to comply with data protection regulations in certain parts of the world (especially the EU) does not allow the retention of such data even on Blockchain.

Lympo Blockchain for Sports Foundation
